COURSE OUTLINE

An ounce of prevention…, Implant Dentistry is now considered part of mainstream prosthetic dentistry, and is being provided by clinicians of diverse disciplines, backgrounds and experiences. However, complications and failures in Implant Dentistry can cause significant frustration and disappointment for patients and dental professionals. Taking the time to avoid complications, rather than spending time managing compromised outcomes will be the focus of this symposium.

The rapid growth of technical innovations and treatment concepts in implant dentistry can be beneficial to our patients or confuse the practicing clinicians. A careful review of the risks, benefits and alternatives to these new innovations will be addressed by leading experts in the respective fields. Innovations in the treatment planning, surgical and prosthetic phases of implant dentistry will be covered and updated by various specialists.

To evaluate the various topics in implant complications and innovations, this symposium will address implant dentistry as an interdisciplinary team approach. The distinguished speakers and specialists will cover pertinent topics to identify the different modes of complications, aetiology, prevention and treatment of dental implant complications. Innovations that serves benefits and advantages to our patients and practices will be reviewed and addressed by various respective speakers.

This symposium will consist of 2 full days of didactic and hands-on programs. On Day 1, two concurrent simultaneous sessions will take place with didactic presentations from distinguished speakers and dental specialists. The “Clinicians Session” has been structured with various speakers from the Specialties of Prosthodontics, Oral Surgery and Periodontics. The “Team Session” has been structured with various expert speakers with the respective topics and dental specialists.

On Day 2, focused hands-on programs with limited attendance will be available for both clinicians and team members to participate and improve their skills.
